Court Appearance

I spent yesterday testifying before the DC Federal District Court in the matter of a habeas hearing for a Guantanamo "detainee."  This is the second time concerning this man.  The DoJ seems to like our forum.  They quote it to me in cross-examination.  pl

Then you must have some lurkers who monitor the topics being written and discussed.

  2. Maureen Lang says:

“The DoJ seems to like our forum.”
…and to think all I’d had high hopes for was a few Beltway science geeks checking out John Minnerath’s astrophotos over on The Athenaeum…

  3. Charles I says:

    Rumpole approves, but do they?

  4. Fred says:

Perhaps the DOJ lawyers can learn something about the Constitution at this forum since it appears too few learned to understand it in at law school.

  5. Tyler says:

I expect a rescue if I get my extraordinary rendition ticket punched.

Further for the Lurkers , remember their oath office pledge to defend the US Constitution , not the Banksters or other Special Interest .. OT slightly it was refreshing to here on al jeezera news last night that Attorney General Holder was visiting with Jamie Dimon about his ongoing criminal conspiracy at his bank & disgorging three or four billion dollar back to these United States for all that crap that was pulled in the market back 2005-2008 . Furthermore for the Lurkers – the oath also said defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic – what if a foreign power had done to our economy what the Banksters did – and apparently did so deliberately ? Remember too that back in the day Pappy Bush and Attorney General Thornburgh put several of the S&L meltdown perpertators in jail . Glad you are Lurking here . We learn a bunch from Col Lang and the rest of the SST community every day .

Do they quote any of your emails or phone calls?

  8. Brad Ruble says:

I haven’t known enough about the discussions on this site to comment for quite some time. But just so there is no misunderstanding. If they are watching, I want my name on the list.

    Not yet. pl

I promise we won’t send the Barack Brigade.

  11. Fred says:

Barack’s backers are busy looting state and municipal pension funds why the manufactured ‘crisis’ is still in effect. Take a look at some of his backers, like Penny Pritzker, Secretary of Commerce. She sure took care of her siblings: What’s a few billion amongst family. Obviously she’ll treat regular Americans with the same ingenuity and initiative. Another one of his biggest fundraisers is the Detroit ’emergency’ financial manager. He’s set to gut the pensions of current retirees, amongst other things.
Meanwhile the Ilitch family in Detroit is set to get $150 million in public funding for their new hockey arena – coincidentally the same amount being touted by administration officials as pending ‘grants’ to Detroit. Lord knows the billionaire owners of multiple sports teams, Little Caesar’s Pizza and Motor City Casino cannot yield up a single tax break nor spend their own money on their own arena for their own profit.

  12. Brad Ruble,
I do hope that, if indeed ‘they are watching’, foreign subversives like myself, CP, and Charles I have been duly reported to the intelligence agencies in our respective countries.

Mebbe I’m safe – not even you can understand my Carlos Dangeresque hofian gibberish sometimes!

  15. Charles I says:

It was reported that our Government published newly minted Parliamentary Cabinet Members transition books containing admonishments about a list of “enemy stakeholders”.
I immediately made contact with my Member, whom I am constantly abusing – with performance appraisals and commentary – and demanded to be put on the list.

I am wondering whether anyone participating in this “Committee of Correspondence” has seen the latest “South Park” episode satirizing the NSA?
    Poignant and HILARIOUS….

  18. Fred says:

That is actually a very reassuring idea. I wonder if in the interim he would be willing to write a review of a DOJ hearing (provided hearings were public) in his movie review voice? It would make a good movie script, too.

Thats assuming they will be able to take you into custody Tyler we say in back home in Nacadogches , – “that might be near worth the trouble ”

I am an engineer (retired) but I do enjoy “lurking.” I learn a lot that is outside of my field here. Please keep up the good work.

I’m looking at getting a Suomi to carry around with me just in case. 14 pound subgun that fires 9mm. At least we know recoil ain’t going to be an issue.

By-the-by, John Minnerath’s astralphotographic expertise is also much on view at many other places, among them:
