  1. DH says:

What an ass. This is going to be fun.
There was a first Democratic debate? Karl Lagerfeld is dead? I think I’d better start looking at Drudge every day to get the skinny.

  2. Eric Newhill says:

Not surprising. The clown show that is the democrat party is, entirely engaged in a race to see who can be first to go further left than Fidel Castro. These morons apparently actually think that their banana republic recent arrivals and the loud crazy activists that fill their twitter feeds and who lobby them in the swamp are representative of the American people.
Trump is going to win in a landslide that leaves liberals’ heads spinning for another four years. I’m truly enjoying the self-immolation of the idiot lefties.

  3. Bill H says:

The link is behind a pay wall.

  4. BabelFish says:

I hope his medical coverage inclures the surgical removal of one or more feet from a mouth.

  5. Fred says:

Comrade de Blasio was rather hilarious. Thanksfully I was spared most of the debate veiwing by family commitments but it looks like a consensus policy of foreigners first and Kamala as the new Media favorite.

  6. Dave Schuler says:

Does anyone have a spare copy of “How to Win Friends and Influence People” to send him?

  7. Eric Newhill says:

    LOL.
    Not just товарищ DeBlasio.
Kamala Harris has already, within 24 hours, reversed her debate statement that she supports the complete elimination of private healthcare insurance. She says she didn’t understand the question, but me thinks her many constituents who like their employer based plans got on the horn and gave her an earful.

  8. JerseyJeffersonian says:

The democrat party is officially a raging dumpster fire belching red smoke, and emitting an intolerable stench of decay.

  9. Barbara Ann says:

Bill, when you get to the paywall turn off JavaScript in your browser (the appropriate browser extension will make this easy), et voilà.

  10. John Minehan says:

Looks like Sen. Harris is the likely nominee and the likely winner of the general election.
“Si, se puedo” y “Hasta la victoria siempre!”

  11. Bill H says:

Kamela is actually running for dictator. She aired a long list of executive orders she would issue on “day one,” including citizenship for “dreamers” and their parents. Later she declaimed that she would give Congress 100 days to pass certain legislation and if they did not she would create it by executive order. She might need to read the constitution for the role of Congress.
The whole crowd ranted that entry into this nation without permission should not be a felony, without explaining why they themselves as members of Congress passed the law making it a felony, and why they themselves as members of Congress have not passed a law reducing it to a misdemeanor.

  12. Jack says:

Let’s not lose sight of the fact that Trump was 1% in the polls at this point in 2015 and Jeb & Rubio were the slam dunks. Kamala is being projected as the next Obama and Warren is also getting the backing of the media establishment. Tulsi’s performance while obscured by the media did garner the attention of folks who did watch the debates.
This video is well worth watching. I believe that there is a sufficient amount of voters who feel strongly about this that they could sway the election in the mid-west where the election will be decided.

These are early days and a lot can happen between now and November 2020.

  13. ambrit (ex Britam) says:

The image is pure political propaganda gold.
And why not let de Blasio quote Che Guevara? If anyone here had forgotten, Che was part of a successful revolution. The Democrat Party is not. Far from it. I haven’t heard any Democrat Party politicos call for the workers owning the means of production yet.
Really now, even though I trend to the Left of many who comment here, to call the Democrat Party Leftist is incorrect. A leftist political party filled with millionaires? I’m with Gore Vidal on this supposed political split between the American main parties.
“There is only one party in the United States, the Property Party…and it has two Right Wings: Republican and Democrat.”
Now I’ll shut up and go back to lurking. Sorry Colonel.

  14. turcopolier says:

    Comrade Minehan
Si, se puede si es posible hacer lo. Comprende?

  16. Fred says:

    Bill,
“she would give Congress 100 days”
As a Senator she could introduce legislation to do that herself. By her own admission he’s part of the problem.

  17. Fred says:

    ambrit,
FDR did a pretty good job of revolutionizing the federal government. LBJ extended that with the “great society” programs.

  18. But, in my simple way, from up here in the Frozen North, where the Mosquito is Canada’s National Bird, thought, in my Lumberjack ignorance (cue Monty Python), that the USA had solved all its medical care concerns with Obamacare, aka The Affordable Care Act,
And yet, that’s all they’re talking about (apart from She Who Must Not Be Named.)

  19. semiconscious says:

thank you! & always remember, kids: don’t believe the hype 🙂 …

  20. emboil says:

Kamala has a lot of skeletons in her closet. Just wait.

  21. Lars says:

First of all, there is a long way to go. Fairly soon, many of these candidates will no longer be viable and nobody at this time knows who they will be. The only thing keeping Trump up is the economy, which in most parts he inherited. There are signs that the economy is slowing down and not just the US economy, but the world economy. Guess who will be blamed for any noticeable deterioration? In the meantime, let me remind everybody with a crystal ball, that you may end up eating a lot of broken glass.

  22. rswojo says:

Kamela Harris is just another neoliberal Republican in Democrat clothing.

  23. rswojo says:

Is that possible? I think that they can replace/convert their male parts into female parts but to get pregnant would require ovaries and all the associated plumbing. Thankfully, I don’t think medical science is there yet.
I am somewhat liberal but this trans crap goes too far. You are what you are, period.

  24. optimax says:

Delaney seems like the most moderate and realistic of the candidates. That’s why he won’t last and also he looks like Elmer Fudd. Everybody else is just offering bribes to their people.
Was reading an 1895 Reform Advocate on the New York Digital Library. An article there talked about industry owners needing to treat their workers better and pay them a decent wage to stave off a revolution of angry workers. The writer believed in capitalism and warned of its destruction due to greed. To paraphrase something else he said: “When a people lose their faith in God, all they have left is to stare at each others wounds.”
That’s where we are today in America: real and percieved wounds give a person, through their group identity, moral authority according to the past oppressions their group suffered. Repairative Justice. Kamela showed us her wounds and wounds are a great commodity these days.

  25. Valissa says:

Best snarky review of both Dem debates by the inimitable James Kunstler of Clusterfuck Nation…
    Say Anything! https://kunstler.com/clusterfuck-nation/say-anything/
… Swalwell touched off the main event by tossing a hand-grenade at Uncle Joe for failing to relinquish the torch that he has selfishly not passed to the next generation (of politicians) — the catch being that said torch may be used to burn down what’s left of the republic. The attack seemed to give front-runner Joe the vapors. He insisted he has more torch songs yet to sing. That cued Sen. Kamala Harris (CA), playing Shiva Destroyer-of-Worlds, to jam the torch right into Uncle Joe’s smiling puss, saying that the ex-Veep’s recent remarks about making nice with the senate’s staunch segregationists of yore was “hurtful” to her personally. For a moment, I thought she was going to belt out a rendition of that old tearjerker, “Feelings.” Uncle Joe will now have to wear the scarlet “R” on his forehead until his campaign whirls down the drain — without even having to answer questions about just how come his son, Hunter, came up with zillion-dollar payments from Ukraine and China well before the advent of Mr. Trump.
    —————
The whole thing is hilarious, enjoy:)

  26. Alexandria says:

    Successful Revolution: Bolivia?

  27. Fred says:

    Lars,
According to Kamila Harris “Yeah, well, I’ve been traveling our country. People are working. They’re working two and three jobs to pay the bills. It’s not working for working people,” So of course it is the Obama economy. Good thing nobody mentioned immigration, that would force Trump to come up with some kind of policy option. I wonder what he would do……

  28. Terry says:

I find it interesting that we are entering a solar minimum. Food supplies will be scarcer (i.e. your comment – “not just the US economy but World economy”) but generally things are quieter resulting in less risk taking.
The world will be cooler, calmer, and more reasoned in years ahead.
The most logical/cautious person will win the next election. The Sun has declared revolutions dead for the moment. No Hasta, No revolución.
A big nod to Alexander Chizhevsky.

  29. Jose says:

Blame Tomas Perez (DNC Chair) and Enrique Muñoz (Finance) for refusing to have a debate on Fox News.
Going to the “Safe Zones” of MSNBc and CNN will force the Dems to go so far to left, they will swimming in the Pacific Ocean.
A “Deplorable” Great White Shark is going to do serious harm.
Blue states like Minnesota, New Hampshire, Nevada and Southern Maryland will be in play.
House majority will also be in place if the Shadow Cabinet (led by AOC) continues to spill stupidity.
    ¿Por qué somos tan estúpidos?

  30. Bill H says:

Yes, that had me confused. Men have extensive, painful and expensive surgery to become female, and then want an abortion when they become pregnant. Why, then, did they have all that female plumbing installed if they are just going to… Never mind. I am so confused I don’t even know what question to ask.

  31. blue peacock says:

    Caitlin Johnstone on Ms. Harris.
    https://medium.com/@caityjohnstone/kamala-harris-is-an-oligarchs-wet-dream-d689182ba99b

“Harris is everything the US empire’s unelected power establishment wants in a politician: charismatic, commanding, and completely unprincipled. In that sense she’s like Obama, only better.”

Yup. The oligarchs wants her. She is the female Obama.

  32. Paco says:

Sure they do not know what they’re talking about, especially when they try spanish like Beto, but a sharp statement is just that, regardless of who said it first. Would you blame lets say Kim Jong Un for saying something like “its not what your country can do for you, it’s what you can do for your country”? A statement full of sense is just that, no matter who said it first.

  33. Barbara Ann says:

“The world will be cooler, calmer, and more reasoned in years ahead.”
Can I have that in writing please?

  34. Barbara Ann says:

    Paco
But he said it in Miami for God’s sake. He may as well have said “¡El socialismo o la muerte!” – come to think of it that may be the most appropriate slogan for the Dem’s 2020 campaign.
Sometimes those SNL sketches just write themselves.

  35. Charlie Wilson says:

It is all faux leftism. An affectation. Real leftists would sign up for El Sendero or FARC instead of shooting off their mouths. I am more worried about the be-shekeling of these candidates. I bet they can hear the shekels jangling in Adelson et al pockets and are frothing at the mouth waiting to receive BB’s d…

  36. Fred says:

I enjoyed Kamala telling everyone watching that Barack chose a segregationist loving white guy to be his vice president. That won’t have any consequences.

  37. ambrit (ex Britam) says:

    Touche’.
Otherwise, he was asociated with Fidel Castro since 1954.

  38. ambrit (ex Britam) says:

It can be argued that FDR and LBJ performed “blocking actions” to protect the “Status Quo” from the consequences of it’s own folly. Remember the ‘Bonus Army?’ The early ‘Civil Rights’ movement, when it was still framed in terms of a ‘Crusade?’

  39. PRC90 says:

You’re lucky ! If this was in Australia, with our system of members of Parliament regularly electing / fighting over / changing the leadership rather than the actual voters doing it, you could have maybe three of these bizarre creatures taking turns rather than just one of them every four years.

  40. PRC90 says:

This is going to be fun ? Just wait until AOC puts her hand up for the job, just as soon as she in old enough.

  41. Valissa says:

Kamala loves to tell stories about herself that aren’t true. Her pandering skills leave something to be desired.
SHE LIED: Kamala Harris Says She Was in Second Integrated Class in Berkeley — But Yearbook Pictures Prove She’s Lying https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/06/she-lied-kamala-harris-says-she-was-in-second-integrated-class-in-berkeley-but-yearbok-pictures-prove-shes-lying/
Harris said she was a student in only the second class to integrate at Berkeley public schools. Not true. Kamala’s parents were successful professionals. Kamala went to school in Berkeley for only 2 years. She then moved with her mother at age seven to Canada where she attended grade school and high school. Kamala Harris was born in 1964
She claims she was only the second class to integrate at the Berkeley public schools. Kamala lied.
Actually the classrooms in Berkeley were already integrated in 1963 — before she was born. Here’s a photo from the 1963 Berkeley yearbook.

Kamala Harris says she smoked weed and listened to Snoop and Tupac years before they released albums https://www.thefader.com/2019/02/12/kamala-harris-smoked-weed-snoop-and-tupac
The black conservative YouTubers I follow pretty much don’t even view her as black, since her ancestry is Jamaican and Indian and on the Jamaican side there were slave holders. Personally I don’t care about any of that, but I do find it amusing.

  42. different clue says:

I have not systematically studied the New Deal/ Fair Deal Era. I have read and heard a little about it.
My admittedly thinly-sourced understanding is that FDR and the New Dealers set out to set up the oversight and guardrails and business-crime prevention activity needed to permit capitalism and the upper class to preserve itself in long-term existence against real rebellionism from various sources. Roosevelt himself said so once. I paraphrase the quote to the best of my memory: ” The upper classes are like the man saved from drowning in the ocean who berates the lifeguard for not saving his hat as well.”
Farmers in Iowa and elsewhere were in open revolt against Forced Foreclosures and Forced Auction Sales. The fast-spreading success and influence of Senator Huey Long and his Every Man A King movement scared the Roosevelt Administration into proposing Social Security. ( Even though the Communist Party likes to take credit for inspiring it. My sketchy reading indicates it wasn’t the Communists, it was the Huey Longists).
FDR reformationized the federal government enough to prevent any genuine revolution from happening. And that’s fine with me. I am a New Deal Reactionary.

    https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/bad-news-about-the-us-corn-crop-according-to-the-latest-usda-report/70008643
AccuWeather’s new estimates for corn and soybean yield for 2019 are even lower than previous forecasts as a result of continued bad weather and new data in Monday’s U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Crop Progress.

  48. Elsi says:

Indeed, you nailed it describing the US political system in few words.
This spurious use of an iconic image of the real left and working class fight is not but to fool the Us working masses into voting, the same way the were fooled by the other right wing represented by Trump.
Both US political parties work for the interests of upper middle and upper classes, the MIC, and transnational corporations and financial capital.
The rest, owning two fingers of forehead to be aware of this and still supporting this play are lackeys of this system.

  49. Morongobill says:

If elected, she’d probably make the best cup of coffee or mixed drink in presidential history.
