Laid up for a few days – TTG

Old Soldier by Jeff Smith

Colonel Lang is laid up for a few days in hospital. He’ll be back soon. Getting old is not for the faint of heart. That’s doubly true of old soldiers. We put our bodies though the wringer when we’re young and pay for it in spades if or when we become old.

I too count on Pat’s blog every day. I wonder, since TTG looks to be doing double duty on this maybe “correspondents” should lighten up on traffic. Thoughts anyone.

        Bill Roche,

No need to lighten up on traffic. It falls upon us guest authors to manage comments for our posts. It’s a simple matter of doing our duty.

      jim ticehurst,

The painting is of a British WWII reenactor wearing a leather jerkin. It just struck me as appropriate primarily for the quality of the facial expression.

  41. TTG says:

    All,

    Update for 12 April:

“I just spoke with Pat. He’s coming along fine and is in great spirits. He’s religiously enduring the torments of physical therapy as one must. He’s also now deep into doing his taxes. He’ll be back on his blog before long.”

  42. Lefty665 says:

    Col, glad you’re doing well.

This getting old stuff sucks, but considering the alternative it ain’t so bad. What with death and taxes being the alternatives, each year I get to do taxes I think of them more kindly. Best wishes.
