More than 33,000 refugees have returned to Syria from Jordan since reopening of Nassib Crossing

"Up to 33,500 refugees have reportedly returned to Syria from Jordan through the Nassib border crossing within past two months, footage released on Friday shows.

According to the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, between 600-700 Syrian citizens return to the country daily through the Nassib border crossing.

One of the refugees, who deserted from the Syrian army during the conflict, said that he decided to return “after the change of conditions in Syria and the liberation of most of the territory from terrorists,” in addition the amnesty for army deserters announced by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The two countries agreed to reopen the transit route that has been an essential commercial crossing for both countries until its closure in 2015."AMN
