Second: Attorney General Merrick Garland–
“The senior Justice Department source says that Garland was regularly briefed on the Records Act investigation, and that he knew about the grand jury and what material federal prosecutors were seeking. He insists, though, that Garland had no prior knowledge of the date and time of the specific raid, nor was he asked to approve it. ‘I know it’s hard for people to believe,’ says the official, ‘but this was a matter for the U.S. Attorney and the FBI.’ ”
The Newsweek article shamelessly strains to create the impression that Garland knew nothing about the search warrant and its execution. But one carefully worded sentence might be a non-denial denial: “He insists, though, that Garland had no prior knowledge of the date and time of the specific raid, nor was he asked to approve it.” Oh, so Garland did not know the “date and time” of the “specific raid”. Nor was he asked to approve “it”. Does “it” mean the specific raid at the specific date and time? Or, did Garland not know at all that a search warrant was in the works for Trump’s Florida residence, and he therefore did not in any way give his approval to the preparation and execution of the warrant?
Newsweek’s final paragraph advises us that this is all much ado about nothing, while cheerfully throwing FBI Director Christopher Wray under the bus [2]–
“[Wray] ultimately gave his go-ahead to conduct the raid, the senior Justice official says. ‘It really is a case of the Bureau misreading the impact.’ “
But CBS News is not quite as enthusiastic about Garland’s ignorant innocence in its article of 10 August 2022, published at 8:20 a.m. [3]–
“U.S. officials confirm the search of Trump’s home was approved by the highest levels of the Justice Department. Attorney General Merrick Garland is not expected to make any public statements about the investigation or the search, however.”
When faced with contradictory stories like this, what can be done? Back when the Internet was first getting known by the public at large, many questions about the operation of computers, their networks, electronic mail, and so forth were asked by novices. Computer software programmers, network administrators, and those in the know often responded with “RTFM”, which stands for “read the f*****g manual”. We should follow that excellent advice, since the FBI and the Department of Justice, as bureaucracies, likely have their own manuals. And they sure do: The FBI Domestic Investigations and Operations Guide, and the DOJ Justice Manual (formerly known as the U.S. Attorneys’ Manual) [4].
The FBI Manual has a lot of blanked-out redactions, but creates a category called “Sensitive Investigative Matters” (SIM). They require special approval to open investigations, and require reporting, including to applicable DOJ lawyers.
Part 1-13.100 of the DOJ Justice Manual, “Urgent Reports Generally”, tells us all we need to know–
“United States Attorneys’ offices and Department litigating divisions must submit Urgent Reports to inform Department leadership, including the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General, of (1) major developments in significant investigations and litigation, (2) law enforcement emergencies, and (3) events affecting the Department that are likely to generate national media or Congressional attention. Urgent Reports should be brief but contain at least the following information:
“A brief description of the major development being reported;
Potential targets, subjects, and parties in the matter;
The investigative and/or client agencies involved; and
The date of any prior, related Urgent Report, if any.
“USAOs [U.S. Attorneys’ Offices] and Department litigating divisions should submit Urgent Reports at least three days in advance of anticipated developments or events to provide Department leadership with appropriate notice. In the event of unanticipated events and emergencies, USAOs and Department litigating divisions should submit Urgent Reports within 24 hours, absent exigent circumstances.”

AG Merrick Garland and Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco knew all about the application for a search warrant directed at Trump’s Florida residence, the planned FBI raid, and its execution.
What happened during the eight and a half hour search is another issue, regarding how it should have been done. For example, Newsweek misleadingly tells us: “Trump attorney Lindsey Halligan, who was present during the multi-hour search, says that the FBI targeted three rooms—a bedroom, an office and a storage room.” The reader will mistakenly think that Halligan was present inside when the FBI was rummaging around. However, CBS sets the record straight: “Halligan says she and Bobb were barred from going inside the complex, forced to remain outside, between the ballroom and residence, on the grounds of Mar-a-Lago.”
There is still more to this tawdry story, as a separate discussion about the federal magistrate who signed and authorized the warrant — Bruce E. Reinhart. Although the warrant was presented and sealed on 5 August 2022, the seal started leaking quickly, and when Reinhart’s name showed up, Internet sleuths jumped on it like a duck on a June bug, with an onslaught that collapsed the attempt by the main stream media to keep his identity secret. Newsweek has now publicly confirmed that Reinhart signed it.
And yes, he can be traced back to the time of the Jeffrey Epstein sexual misconduct case with underage girls in Florida. He was in the U.S. Attorney’s Office when the sweetheart deal was being arranged with Epstein, and after leaving that office he represented a few people who were associated with Epstein. The issues of his attitude about Trump and any public statements he may have made in that regard are being looked at.
But for now, Reinhart is keeping a straight face and is acting as if this is all perfectly normal, while holding on to the search warrant situation now that some requests have been made to unseal the warrant and its supporting affidavit. Documents asking that the items be unsealed have been made by the Judicial Watch organization; by the Times Union newspaper in Albany, New York; and by the New York Times. Here are the requests by Judicial Watch, which does a lot of this type of work, and from the Times Union in the form of a letter by its managing editor–
We will not use up computer disc space to include the 11-page request by the New York Times. It is certainly technically correct, but does not add anything new that is pertinent.
So, what is this dramatic search and seizure all about? Newsweek magazine thinks that everybody just fell off of a turnip wagon when it claims that, “The raid had nothing to do with the January 6 investigation or any other alleged wrongdoing by the former president”. Andrew McCarthy, who had extensive experience in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York in Manhattan, thinks that it is a pretext for a fishing expedition to look for evidence about the 6 January 2021 protest at the U.S. Capitol [5].
One reason in addition to any others is to dirty up Trump as having been the subject of a search warrant, since he is obviously preparing to run for president again in 2024. The claim that the search was to find classified information that was improperly possessed looks like it is the legal hook used to get the warrant, and it is a crime that can be charged. Whether the following are remote possibilities or not — since the FBI prevented anyone from being inside the residence while it was being searched — the process could be a cover for another warrant, authorizing the placement of listening and surveillance devices inside, perhaps from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, or the most nefarious of all, to plant fake evidence and then retrieve it to frame Trump for some other criminal offence.
The DOJ and FBI well knew that controversy would come from their action, and so they would certainly have loaded up the affidavit in support of the search warrant with all sorts of allegations, knowing that when the affidavit was made public, the allegations could be used for political attacks.
Reinhart has ordered that the DOJ file a response by 15 August 2022 to the requests to unseal the warrant by Judical Watch and the Times Union newspaper, and by 24 August to the motion by the New York Times.

Marjorie Merriweather Post, an heir to the Postum Cereal Company, finished building Mar-a-Lago in 1927. Trump [6].

First time in US history the FBI conducted a search of a president.
The Reinhart-Epstein connection is interesting. It saying something when the very man who granted this search warrant was one of the very same people who made sure Epstein got off light. Why was Epstein, a sexual predator of young girls and who tried to blackmail influential figures, protected by some in the government for so long?
And for all the denials, clearly Garland approved this cockamie idea. I’d really like to know why is Garland the AG? Who pulled the strings to get him the nomination for the Supreme Court while we are it? It might go a lomg way to explain who is is directing this seeming cabal of government officials who pull every trick in the book to destroy Trump.

It was claimed Kenneth committed suicide when it was very clear he was tortured to death. Epstein committed suice too. He also recused himself in the judicial misconduct of a colleague who raped a 16-year-old girl decades earlier. That colleague was Richard Roberts and he too helped to deny Trentadue’s murder by federal law enforcement.
These aren’t trivial concerns.

Comey had the power to reopen her case at any time he so chose, ust like Wray can do to Trump now. What’s to stop the FBI from exercising another fishing expedition?

Haven’t seen any validity but there is an air of a new push behind Trump after the FBI action. Trump didn’t do well the first time around loading up the administration with neocons and being used to push the covid scam etc. He did accomplish putting the destruction of the US on hold for 4 years, which has accelerated since they pushed him out. This looks like an act of desperation that shows how fearful they are of another Trump term now that he understands the depth of their depravity, corruption and agenda and the mistakes he made in the first term.

There is a theory doing the rounds that the fishing expedition may itself have been biting on some bait – i.e. that this was a counterintelligence op by team Trump to uncover a mole (and generate a boat load of free publicity). A stretch perhaps, but being in Trump’s position he must surely have a CI team of some sort and I’d be astonished if he hasn’t been expecting exactly this kind of raid for some time. As Fred indicated in his last post this “surprise” was anything but, for those paying attention. Would Trump really be so dumb as to keep compromising material in a safe at MAL?
As for Reinhart, I expect he “belongs to Intelligence” every bit as much as Epstein did. In fact I have the strong impression that there is little of any consequence in the Federal government that does not. Unwinding the skein of blackmail in the structures of power is a prerequisite to reclaiming the Republic and my expectation is it will be unimaginably ugly when it finally all spills out.
My theory: An entire hoax perpetrated to remove attention from Cry me a river and Your Cranium. Why do I say so? Because the timing is just too da*m patently weirdly perfect – meaning witness the ongoing shelling of a nuclear power complex which hasn’t stopped despite pleas from Gueterres of UN and simultaneous with escalating into the Novofederovka air base in Crimea. That increasingly looks like Nato on both counts. Why would Ukraine shell a huge nuclear complex in their own country? Answer: they wouldn’t. Garland just held a presser and he isn’t revealing anything. Well well, that’s consistent with the above. It’s an easy deception to carry off on the American public, they are absorbed in their iPhone playlists and their red-blue divide obsessions. The country is riveted on this Mar a Lago nonsense. It’s a guaranteed ratings booster for the media conglomerates, who also make the weapons, so it’s thoroughly in their interest to deceive like this.

These anons believe Trump uses genius-tier insight, also known as “5-dimensional chess,” to always stay ahead of the competition. Most people — perhaps even most dedicated anons on 8kun — do not trust “5-dimensional chess” to save the USA.

If the upcoming elections will be free of fraud, no doubt the Democrats will lose bigly. If the upcoming elections are significantly marred by fraud — or even if millions of Trump supporters just believe those elections to be fraudulent — then the political situation could be very uncomfortable for dissidents.
For example, during the raid on Mar-a-Lago, 8kun was under exceptionally intense attack by spammers. It is not impossible that the Deep State elements who arranged the raid regard 8kun as a target worthy of considerable effort. My, my and no impeachment over “nuclear tech” that Trump was gonna give them. So much so that it didn’t come out in the 2020 election.

The ME has had these ambitions for longer than Trump. While I don’t have the report immediately to hand I do distinctly recall FAS reporting on a Korean firm’s getting approval from DOE to provide reactor tech to the Saudis.

The Saudi hunger to join the nuclear club, and not just nuclear power, extends a lot further back than 2010. It was an issue I became involved with almost as soon as I arrived at DIA in 1996.

The genie is out of the bottle. Trump would be advised to ‘sweep’ his property for listening devices and hidden cameras. The FBI should be dismantled. The DOJ should have their workforce reduced by 50%. The Democrats are truly the party of treason; antagonizing Russia and sucking up to China. The NIH, CDC, FDA, and the NIAID should be cleansed of every scientist that thinks GoF research is a good idea.
