I read about that uncorrectable damage, but in this and other articles they go on to say ” Engineers were able to realign Webb’s segments to adjust for the micrometeoroid’s damage.” So they were able to correct for the damage. Granted this doesn’t make the damage disappear, but it’s hardly uncorrectable.
For the images, given the JWST is an infrared telescope, I don’t see how our visible light images on the internet or in print will reveal what’s truly important. We have to be able to read the data to understand that.

Well I see Space X got it up yesterday successfully. This completed the scrubbed launch of the day before. 32nd successful launch this year.
