“Washington Post blasts Sotomayor for ‘false’ COVID claim that ‘over 100K’ children are in ‘serious condition’”

She should be removed from the case

“The Washington Post called out Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor on Saturday over her “false” claim that more than 100,000 children are “in serious condition,” many of them on ventilators, because of COVID-19

The Washington Post performed what they call “The Pinocchio Test” and gave Sotomayor “four Pinocchios” for her “absurdly high” figure, arguing that “it’s important for Supreme Court justices to make rulings based on correct data.”

A spokesperson with the Supreme Court did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Sotomayor came under withering criticism Friday after she falsely suggested that upwards of 100,000 children in the United States are hospitalized from COVID-19.”

Comment: A jurist who shows such obvious bias in a case has no business voting on that case. I do not know if there is any way that she can be forced off the case. pl

it is actually much more serious than removing her from the case.

if she stays and the majority opinion (5-4) is FOR the legality of mandates and SHE is on the majority the entire LEGITIMACY of the court as an unbiased arbitrator comes into serious question.

she could precipitate a crisis of trust in the SC among the public

    • Pat Lang says:

      Thanks for stating the obvious.

    • JerseyJeffersonian says:

      Ted Richard,

Well, that horse has already left the barn; when the Supreme Court declined to accept the case originated by Texas (iirc), and joined by various other States contesting the legality of States, in particular, Pennsylvania, permitting the alteration of the State’s rules for voting in a Federal election via executive fiat, rattan than through the State’s legislature, as clearly specified in the Federal Constitution, on the ridiculous grounds of “lack of standing”, we all knew that they were assisting in a miscarriage of justice. The voting for the Federal Presidency (and the Vice-Presidency) is the only Federal election that directly impacts all of the States, and any deviation from the black letter law in the Federal Constitution is inherently a violation.

So, yeah, this told us that this was a deliberate abrogation of their duty to the Federal Republic. Why did they do this? Either the majority was in on it willingly, or pressure had been brought to bear to assure this outcome. From that day, I have had absolutely no confidence in the honesty of the “Supreme” Court, whether this action came about through rank partisanship, or through cowardice, it makes no difference to me.

    • exiled off mainstreet says:

Should stupidity be grounds for impeachment? If it goes 5-4, the last shreds of legitimacy of the entire system will have gone by the wayside. Check the new Iceland information revealing that the shots actually are a cause of increasing infection rates.

      • Lysias says:

If Sotomayor recuses herself, and the result is 4-4, that will mean that the judgment of the court below stands.

    • Carey says:

      > she could precipitate a crisis of trust in the SC among the public <

That's seeming intentional (from our moribund but still testy ruling class) rather than inadvertent, to me.

  2. Jim says:

This data, all from two CDC charts [with links below] show public health failure, vaccine failure, medical failure and/or someone feel free to convince me otherwise [just don’t use the Sotomayor ‘logic’ and ‘knowledge’, please].

Reviewing the week 52 data for Influenza related Illness, ILI [with the percents of total visits], and with that: the total outpatient visits, for 2019, 2020 and week 2021, focus on week #52.

The week 52, in 2020 counts, was an overall relative low in total outpatient visits — compared to what came next.

What variable introduced Dec. 14-16, 2020 might account for all these unprecedented visits — beginning right after the shots were deployed — for public injection via Emergency Use Authorization?

    In week 52 [Dec. 25-31, 2021],
    TOTAL VISITS, OUTPATIENT
–ages 0-4, highest count ever of outpatient visits = 128,139 [using 2019, 2020 and 2021] = 128,139 visits total outpatient

–ages 5-24, more than 300,000 visits [only 2 previous times did this occur, and those are recent] = 306,576 visits

    –ages 25-49, first time exceeds half-million = 564,043 visits

–ages 50-64, highest in the three years = 282,619 visits

    –age 65+, exceeds 300K first time = 311,625 visits.

2021 week 52 by age groups, total outpatient visits:
    0-4 128,139 visits/5-24 306,576 /25-49 564,043 /50-65 282,619 65+ 311,626 /TOTAL=1,596,003 visits total outpatient

    2020
week 52 by age groups, total outpatient visits:
    0-4 48,464 visits /5-24 66,284 /25-49 348,846 /50-65 199,740 /65+ 237,696 /TOTAL=1,001,030 visits

    2019
    0-4 90,267 visits /5-24 170,131 /25-49 258,507 /50-65 140,740 /65+ 165,096 /TOTAL=824,741 visits

FROM 2019, ‘NO’ ‘COVID’ TO 2020 = 20% INCREASE IN VISITS WITH NO ‘VACCINE’ IN 2020

    2019 TO 2021 INCREASE = 94% INCREASE

2020 NO SHOTS TO 2021 WITH SHOTS = 59% INCREASE.
From 1,001,030 visits to 1,596,003 visits total outpatient.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention links as follows [that also show percent of ILL of total visits]; using the week #52 counts shown above, by age group:

It’s not just Sotomayor that’s run roughshod with the facts. But the entire cast who’ve promulgated all these rules under the guise of public health emergency. Across two administrations in the US – Trump & Biden, and many more across the world. All nicely synchronized and using even the same words and phrases.

The reality is slowly seeping through the propaganda fog. That’s why the quick rebuttal to Sotomayor’s fact free assertions. Maybe she only gets her info from CNN and MSNBC and Fauci’s daily dance.

Covidians have now admitted that cloth masks are theater. How many vulnerable people wore them thinking they were protected?

There is no randomized evaluation of community N95 masking. We should demand better evidence before suffocating mandates.

Ned Oliver’s comments are spot on. We have a conspiracy and it is not those who believe in lab leak.

    https://twitter.com/chigrl/status/1480300911876530176?s=21

What more needs to be said. The vax has failed to prevent transmission but blame the unvaxed. Untermensch.

  5. Sam says:

The government can only control the people when the people are scared and/or divided. Now the government is scared and divided and the public is becoming united, and not so afraid. This is the way.

    https://twitter.com/scottadamssays/status/1480228377504014338?s=21

Yes, this is the way. It has always been thus. The people who have the ultimate responsibility for their governance must exercise their sovereignty. However, what happens when the majority are so fearful that they willingly cede their sovereignty to an elite whose only interest is power and personal gains?

  6. Sam says:

Andrew Yang:The core problem is that Democrats and Republicans answer to their most animated partisan voters – the 10 – 15% most extreme in party primaries – while most Americans are left without meaningful say or input.

    I agree wholeheartedly with Jimmy.

  7. Sam says:

CDC Director sounds like a politician & doesn’t know how many people have died FROM covid as opposed to WITH Covid & we’re 2 years in to this pandemic

Pharma funded News reports always conflate numbers of deaths WITH Covid & number of deaths FROM Covid.

    https://twitter.com/jimmy_dore/status/1480304015636193280?s=21

This has always been a political propaganda issue. Alameda County, California reduced their covid death count by 25% mid-2021 because they had folks who died of car crashes but tested positive in the covid death count. Now that the mid-terms are coming along and the Biden administration would be interested in reducing that number we can be certain that new numbers will be low while the older numbers will remain to maintain the comparison with the Trump administration. This is what will be propagated by the Pravda channels.

Ok. Like it did before?? Is that why Israel is now at 4th booster? But, we must insist on mandates and treat the unvaxed as untermensch. Getting more ridiculous by the hour.

    • blue peacock says:

Now it comes a full circle. Look at the number of people that were canceled and removed from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for saying this. Alex Berenson for example is one that is now vindicated. He was permanently kicked off Twitter and YouTube took out his account for questioning the efficacy of the vaccine. He was accused of spreading misinformation by the “fact checkers”. What happens when the fact checkers are the propagandists?

How should society respond when dominant digital media companies Facebook, Google and Twitter are instrumental cogs in the propaganda wheel against the interests of the working class, the poor and the rural class? They effectively only support the laptop class and the Party of Davos.

  9. Sam says:

Recall that what the Biden admin is proposing here is EXACTLY what three eminent epidemiologists from Harvard, Oxford and Stanford proposed in October 2020.

Fauci’s and Collins’ response was a “quick and devastating published take-down” of these “fringe epidemiologists”.

    https://twitter.com/hansmahncke/status/1480359271275581453?s=21

Is the CDC Director no longer on Team Fauci? Or is it that the mid-terms not looking too hot for the covidian lockdowners?

  10. Sam says:

Florida schoolchildren have been back in school and unmasked since August 2020. Life is normal for them, except for the amusement value of seeing panicky teachers in masks. New York’s children, like those in many areas where the Democratic Party and its affiliated teachers unions rule, are essentially being used as human shields by educrats committing mass state-sanctioned child abuse until they get good and tired of it. Kids are suffering so badly here that even the New York Times is starting gently to suggest that maybe we should take our hands off our children’s throats — masking them, forbidding them to socialize and exercise and even talk at lunchtime, canceling their extracurriculars, canceling childhood.

    https://nypost.com/2022/01/06/how-florida-is-able-to-forget-the-national-covid-emergency/

Ron DeSantis had courage. In the heat of the hysteria in summer 2020 he took the stand that Floridian kids would not be part of a diabolical experiment. We should remember that when you compare him to Gavin, DeBlasio, Ms. Arden and all the other authoritarians.

The intentionally wrong on the facts Sotomayor, Kagan and Breyer should recuse themselves on the OSHA mandate legality.

CDC director says over 75% of covid deaths were people with “at least four comorbidities” and were “unwell to begin with”

    https://twitter.com/lucasfoxnews/status/1480566096113680388?s=21

Jeezlouise! And entire states and countries locked down for this? School kids and their education and mental health screwed over? And when the Great Barrington Declaration suggested protecting the vulnerable, they were attacked by Fauci as “fringe epidemiologists”.

What about all the covidians hysterical about the apparently now fake death count and using that for their authoritarian ends? Let’s never forget who showed us their true authoritarian colors!

    • Deap says:

Dr Scott Atlas on Tucker Carlson followed up claiming those who died in covid related deaths had six comorbidities; amplifying the CDC claim of “at least four” comorbidities.

NB: This co-factor was revealed in the suppressed Oct 2020 Johns Hopkin CDC data analysis study, finding “covid deaths” for 2020 in fact were relabeled comorbidity deaths.

Major finding: drops in typical leading causes of death for 2020 correlated remarkably with equivalent rises labeled as “covid” deaths.

  13. Sam says:

He was personally wounded by what happened in 2016. By the time he gets to 2020 he knew something more drastic was needed. He couldn’t take it. He was willing to use his agency to support a larger effort. They had the tool, method and opportunity. The rest is history.

Don’t ya’ll find it interesting that the covidians claim catastrophe and we should all be locked down and have vax passports to gain public services when the vax doesn’t prevent transmission and the unvaccinated are untermenschen, but have ZERO interest in how this covid thingy originated in the first place? 🤔

    • blue peacock says:

      Sam,

The only time the covidians had any interest was when Peter Daszak and Fauci were trying to snow everyone by taking-down the lab leak “conspiracy theorists” by having the Lancet publish their letter signed by several folks dependent on Fauci for grant money.

None of the lockdowners either in the media or Congress or in “public health” have demanded to know how this thing that shut down entire countries for couple years originated. That’s such a dead giveaway. If there’s any justice in this world Fauci, Daszak, et al will be testifying to a grand jury investigating genocide.

    • Barbara Ann says:

      Sam

I don’t blame the Big Pharma CEO’s, they are just businessmen taking advantage of a business opportunity. And what an opportunity. What we are seeing is an epoch-making unilateral re-writing of the social contract by governments across the world. Membership of society is now to be conditional on citizens surrendering bodily sovereignty to the State.

Acceptance of Vaxx mandates & ‘health’ passports is nothing less than our acceptance of a future where the State has the right to inject us with whatever it wants – of State run transhumanism. Wherever we see these ‘health’ passes rolled out the sanction on the uncooperative is the same; ejection from society. Comply or starve.

Let us therefore not delude ourselves that this has anything to do with pubic health. It is all about control. Anyone who cannot see this as the destruction of one of the most fundamental principals of human liberty is either a fool or complicit in the crime. If we let this happen the only people to blame will be ourselves.

      • Sam says:

“ If we let this happen the only people to blame will be ourselves.“

        Barbara Ann,

We’ve already let this happen. Notwithstanding the few protests in France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, etc, by and large the majorities in “democracies” around the world have willingly submitted to this authoritarianism. Even demanded it.

In our USA we’ve had pockets like Florida where we had a governor with real courage who withstood the withering criticism and attacks and upheld the natural and constitutional rights of citizens. Of course there is Sweden that didn’t succumb to the covidian hysteria because their public health authorities focused on well known public health epidemiology. And their political leadership better represented their citizenry.

The descent into authoritarianism in Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the many states in the US is an eye opener. Every citizen should be outraged and the miscreants should be held accountable. Unfortunately that can’t happen when large segments of the population demand authoritarianism due to their intense fear. That’s a fundamental change from maybe a century ago that at least in the US our people have become so fearful they want Big Government interference in every aspect of their lives.

  15. Deap says:

Trip down memory lane. The good Dr Fauci with hair on fire in the 1980’s claimed HIV would spread like wildfire and threaten everyone, heterosexuals and homosexuals alike. The only hope were his approved drugs, and an all out Big Pharm quest for a vaccine.

Over time, there was no wider spread of HIV outside of limited population groups, his preferred drug in fact was killing people (AZT), and there is still no vaccine 40 years later. Even though his mantra “HIV-the virus that causes AIDs” is still permanently embedded in the collective memory bank.

How much of “covid” litany sounds like a really bad Fauci re-run in 2020?

    • Sam says:

I understand why people trusted the NIAID director.
I do not understand how a lab scientist can view himself to be America’s leading expert on infectious disease epidemiology and public health.

      https://twitter.com/martinkulldorff/status/1480978315414581248?s=21

Truth. A lab scientist who arguably created the pandemic in the first place and had a previous spotty record on HIV as you note, became the guy who promulgated public health policy under 2 presidents – Trump and Biden.

      What does that say?

      • Deap says:

Dr Scott Atlas book “A Plague Upon Our House” reveals who the real players were on the Covid Taskforce – and why – none of whom offered much substance, let alone well reasoned strategic policy. The Task Force was led primarily by unearned deference from non-medical personnel, who suffered unfortunately from a perverse White Coat authority figure syndrome considering what was at stake.

Fauci’s grand move was to become the media darling outside of the committee, which made him untouchable, regardless of the actual substance he failed to offer the Task Force itself. All Task Force members trembling in the face of harridan Birx was far more troubling, according to the Atlas account.

No one dared to confront her as she wildly took “covid” off course. Altas points to Team Fauci-Birx-Redflied as supremely unqualified major actors in this drama. Yet they were our “experts” on the Trump covid task force

Trump was between a rock and a hard place, with no small consideration this was an election year — just as planned by whomever the forces were behind the Pandemic. Trump did bring in Atlas, but what Team Fauci did to take down Atlas tells the rest of the tale.

Easy to say now, Trump should have fired them all. But that would require pretending the mood of the country, with burning cities and Democrat ginned up almost daily riots would have been the better alternative. The media won that round and they need to be held accountable; not necessarily Trump. Covid hysteria was created to take Trump down – one way or the other. Fait accompli.

While removed from the day to day machinations of the Task Force, the buck does stop with Trump for Covid Year One. He can be glad now that Biden chose to double-down on the overall insanity the covid task force passed on to Biden; and made it even worse. Obama was right again (twice) – never underestimate Biden’s ability to screw things up.

Dr Scott Atlas obviously has his own agenda, and book to sell, but his observations are important so we can learn how sausages get made at the highest level of our land – and the level administrative “expertise” we taxpayers are funding.

We as a nation must learn how this happened, because the two year covid tyranny now appears to be unraveling fast. And this is not the first time we stepped into the Big Muddy, with eyes wide open.

Certainly the “Best and the Brightest” took us headlong into Vietnam. Watergate lawlessness was primarily populated by lawyers. Fauci did a real number on us over HIV in the 1980’s.

And Big Tech and Big Media have yet to loosen their insidious grip on the hearts and minds of too many, as we speak.

  16. Sam says:

    Some basic epidemiology:
Lockdowns ➡️ More Contagious Variants ➡️ Higher Herd Immunity Threshold ➡️ More People Infected During Pandemic ➡️ Harder to Protect Vulnerable

    https://twitter.com/martinkulldorff/status/1480922703779569676?s=21

Martin Kulldorf at Harvard was one of the originators of the Great Barrington Declaration. He was also a key adviser to NIH & CDC on pandemic response. However he was slandered and canceled by Fauci and the media including Big Tech because he took a position against lockdown.

Now that we’re 2 years into this, we should ask why are the folks who got it all wrong still run our public health policy.

  17. Deap says:

From PJ Media – Harvard Constitutional Law Prof – Lawrence Tribe warned Obama about appointing Sotomayor:

………“I’m not sure I understand the distinction why the states would have the power [to institute a mandate such as OSHA’s], but the federal government wouldn’t,” Sotomayor said during oral arguments.

Apparently, the Obama-nominated justice doesn’t know about the Tenth Amendment, which states that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.”

How is it possible she doesn’t understand the Tenth Amendment?

Well, it appears that Harvard law professor Larry Tribe actually warned Barack Obama not to nominate Sotomayor to the Supreme Court back in 2009.

“If you were to appoint someone like Sonia Sotomayor, whose personal history and demographic appeal you don’t need me to underscore, I am concerned that the impact within the Court would be negative in these respects,” Tribe wrote in his letter to Obama after Justice Souter retired.

“Bluntly put, she’s not nearly as smart as she seems to think she is.”…………
