What was it that Warren said?

“Electric-car maker Tesla Inc.’s Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk said on Sunday on Twitter that he will pay more than $11 billion in taxes this year.

Earlier this week, Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren took to Twitter to say that Musk should pay taxes and stop “freeloading off everyone else” after Time magazine named him its “person of the year.”

Musk responded by saying that he “will pay more taxes than any American in history this year.”

Musk is the world’s richest person and his company Tesla is worth about $1 trillion. Over the last few weeks, Musk has sold nearly $14 billion worth of Tesla shares. ” Reuters

Comment: Pocahontas said last week that Mr. Space does not pay his fair share” of taxes. This woman is a Harvard professor. I am glad I decided not to go there. pl

Harvard (and universities in general): Reputational damage – Slowly at first, then all at once.

Admitting David (Camera) Hogg as a freshman, after he could not even get into a second rate Cal State University, was a turning point moment for Harvard patina of privilege.

In return, Hogg has done nothing but shower even more prestige on his new alma mater.

  2. TTG says:

What Musk will pay in taxes is probably far more than many, if not all, of his fellow billionaires. Tesla’s trillion dollar worth is almost all market speculation. It values each car produced by Tesla at $1.4 million. That’s crazier than Dutch tulip bulbs. If Tesla remained the only EV builder for the foreseeable future, it might be worth it. Once all the big producers start kicking into EV production, Tesla stock will surely lose its luster. I think is well aware of this.

    • Deap says:

Musk has fingers in many other pies, not just EV’s: Spacex; tunnel boring, rapid hyper loop mass transit, solar energy storage…… How do brains like his come about?

His tax bill is due to exercising options that he has received as compensation and thus, they are taxed as income. He still ends up with billions extra. I agree that Tesla is highly overvalued since their profits are due to tax incentives and when they end, I am sure you will see a different valuation.

Elon Musk has produced many great things for humanity.
Warren has literally produced nothing of value to society ever.

        • Gee, sbib, that’s waaaaay harsh! How about creating a whole new definition of aboriginal? discovering a career path that brings in the moolah? Can’t say those aren’t discoveries. Not, perhaps, such a big step for humanity, but, as Uncle Neil probably wouldn’t say, certainly a big step for one human.

Well, you know that Tesla has been one of the most shorted stocks. An entire Twitter group and website dedicated to the short’s has existed for years. But….Tesla stock price growth has handed the short’s their heads on a platter. While investor sentiment can change on a dime, this is what the CEO at a top competitor had to say:

Elon says: “Our intent with Tesla was always that we would serve as an example to the car industry…”
      Mission accomplished. Congrats, @ElonMusk

Elon has single-handedly changed the automotive industry with every major automaker driving towards electrification and the elimination of combustion engines for passenger vehicles. Liberals like you should be cheering him as this is all about “green” transportation, instead of envy at his personal financial success.

He’s also changing the space exploration industry and giving the big defense contractors like Lockheed, Boeing and Northrop some serious competition. The “free market capitalists” should be cheering him for that.

BTW, he has a great sense of humor too. The Twitter exchange with Senator Karen is epic.

It’s really hard to comprehend that it was 6 years ago today when SpaceX landed their rocket for the first time ever in history. Before that reusable rockets were basically science fiction. Thanks to SpaceX & @elonmusk for turning sci-fi to reality.

The Falcon 9 booster has been landed 100 times since then. The transformations he’s initiated from fintech to automotive to space transportation and communications is impressive by any yardstick. Yeah. Many envious people who’ve not accomplished a fraction of what he’s done.

    • Fred says:

Remind us all what company the affirmative action fraud, Senator Warren, created, and how many jobs along with it.
