The latest victim of the new Orwellian world of redefining truth comes courtesy of the CDC. They have changed the definition of “vaccine” and “vaccination” because so many vaccinated people are still being infected with a variant of Covid. This is good news for Alex Berenson, who is suing Twitter for defamation.
Here is the tweet about the Covid vaccine that got Alex banned:

The problem is that Covid 19 is not a disease. It causes a variety of diseases. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky recently admitted that the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines are “waning.”
Rather than admit the Covid vaccine is not working as advertised, CDC took a page out of Orwell’s 1984 and opted for new spin language.

With two shots of Pfizer/Moderna/AstraZeneca, etc. you may still catch the virus, but the chances of serious illness or death are greatly reduced. Most people would regard that as a no-brainer.

What constitutes uncomfortable is subjective, of course. I just looked up the figures: 654,000 people have died of Covid-19 in the USA, which is about 0.2% of the total population. So I think your figure of 0.01% chance of dying if you catch it is rather wide of the mark.

I can confirm. There is nothing like 645K US died *of* covid.
But even if that was the true figure, the risk is not spread evenly across the population. This is even clearly spelled out in the CDC’s own data on their own site. For most of us, the risk is something like 0.01% or less *if* we contract the virus. Higher risk doesn’t really come into play until one is over 70 (really more like 75) and with serious underlying conditions.
I don’t understand people that keep insisting we are all at the same risk. They’re either incredibly stupid products of a failed public education system, liars trying to spread false fears, or both.

Any claim that a vaccine must be 100% effective to be called a vaccine is just plain bullshit.

It is a weak argument to claim that CDC is correct since “no vaccine is 100% effective”. Covid vaccines were sold as real true vaccines (that provide immunity) – all the politicians and experts (“experts”) were touting – “get vaccinated, be protected”. mRNA vaccines were 94/95% effective against the original Wuhan strain, which went extinct many months ago. But there is dishonesty involved with the whole process of the covid vaccine approval. 1) it was obvious from the beginning that 94/95% effectiveness will not hold in real life, since already at the time, variants were dominant, 2) 3 months into the RCT (randomized clinical trial), the control group was wiped out (people in the control group were called and told they got placebo, and called back and given the vaccine), which is a kind of nice, if you want to make it impossible to evaluate vaccine, since there is no control group any more, 3) when Pfizer (actually BioNTech) got full FDA approval 2 weeks ago, the data used to justify was from spring; there is more data available since spring, why was the more recent data not used? 4) mRNA (Pfizer, Moderna) dosage is calibrated so that it gives something like 10 times the antibody volume compared to antibody volume in infected people – given that antibody counts in vaccinated people drop 40% per month (see below), had they calibrated the vaccine dosage so that the antibody count equals antibody count in infected people, the vaccine induced antibody count would have been reduced close to 0 in 3 months, and the RCT would have been a failure; basically they had to hike the dosage, to cover up the rapidly declining effectiveness.

that antibody counts in vaccinated people drop 40% per month. In people who recovered from infection, the drop is only 5% per month.
More worryingly, we know (from Israel, which got (almost) fully vaccinated early on, and it is ahead of the curve compared to e.g. US) that by now, the majority of hospitalized people (with covid) are vaccinated. This seems to indicate that there is no B-cell recall. But the point of vaccination is to train B (and T) cells to recognize the pathogen, so that they can quickly crank out antibodies (this is what produces immunity). mRNA vaccines don’t seem to do that.
Basically what the mRNA vaccines do is produce a (very) temporary protection against serious symptoms, and this protection is mostly gone in 6 months.

Not disagreeing with you, but you are overlooking something important about the vaccines original claimed 95% (or whatever) efficacy. 95% of the people who tested positive a little or no symptoms anyhow.
You see the problem, right? You could get vaxxed with a placebo and the results would be the same (assuming for the moment no bad reactions/side effects with the real vax). If you end up being one of the rare .01% (for younger people) or 2% (of older/sicker people) that get covid and become seriously ill and, well, we told you the vax isn’t perfect. By establishing (somehow, magically?) a 95% efficacy out of the gate, there was never a solid way to call that rate into question. Or, in other words, the claimed efficacy was always the same, more or less, as the unvaxxed control group. Very clever.
Of course now we know about dangerous side effects of the vax, though that data is still very much concealed. And it seems that hospitalizations of the vaxxed and the calls for additional boosters are calling into question even the 95% efficacy figures.
The pro-vac crowd is now falling back on weak BS about how the vaxxed may be getting sick, BUT NOT AS SICK as the unvaxxed when they contract the bug. This too will soon be revealed as a lie; just as they lie about Israel’s and other countries’ failing experiences with mass vaccinations. Before long, it will be all transparent lies – I predict that that at that point the pro-vaxxers will just start pointing loaded guns at people.
I believe the confusion is due to a mistaken view that having immunity means there will be no infection whatsoever. That’s not what they mean to impart with the term “immunity”, what they mean is one will not get sick, or have only very mild symptoms.
“100% effective” in the pandemic context means nobody gets ill, no dis-ease, to break that word into it’s etymological roots.
“100% effective” in the microbiological context means there is no virus present at all, as in no test can detect any.
“Infection” does not equal “disease”. The parts of our immune system which fight this and other respiratory system bugs are nearly all reactive, staging up in the lymphatic and circulatory systems. The cell walls exposed to air do not receive armor plating which prevents the virus from entering some cells.
Nobody has bothered to broadly test the population for the common flues which pass through us every year, but it’s a pretty good bet that if there were such testing it would be found those viruses create minor infections within people who are unaware of it, and that the healthy spread it for some period of time, in exactly the same way as COVID is now. It’s unfortunately information which takes longer than twitter allows to explain fully. Perhaps beyond the bandwidth of many of our pundits anyway… in any event, outrage always pays more.
It would be great if an intrepid reporter asks CDC to clarify their definition of the perfectly ambiguous word “protection”. Do they have a quantitative measure? And why the change from pre-2015 which appears to be non-ambiguous?

This may end up being even more long winded than usual, but here goes….
Say you’re an infantry battalion commander and you have three rifle companies consisting of 200 men each. You’re at war and on the front line. Say this is also a most wonderful military in which you receive combat effective replacements every day. So you’re always at full strength.
Unfortunately for you and your men, your mission is to deny the enemy access to a ridge line that sits above open ground a few hundred meters in depth. Within the ridge, is a cave system. The enemy is firmly dug in on that ridge. They are impervious to your artillery and close air support because they remain deep in the caves until those fires have lifted. Then they emerge to fire on your exposed men as they perform their daily sweep across the open ground below.
Every day you send out two companies (400 men) – and every day your men suffer 5% casualties from enemy fire from the ridge. So that’s a loss of 20 men/day (5% of 400 is 20). This is terrible, sucks big time, but it has to be done.
Then along comes some defense contractor. He claims he has worked with the guys at Area 51 to reverse engineer space alien cloaking tech and developed a product he has christened “Invisocam”. This is camouflaged utilities, helmet cover, packs, web gear, etc. that literally make you invisible to the enemy. It’s 95% effective he says (sometimes it doesn’t totally work due to certain atmospheric conditions, certain materials, like gun oil, adhering to it in large amounts, that sort of thing).
Concerned for the welfare of your men and the success of the mission, you get your favorite crafty supply sergeant to requisition some these uniforms and you order all men to wear them when going outside the wire.
Nothing has changed with the enemy in terms of strength and determination to hold the ridge line. You send your two companies the next day out and, lo and behold, to your great relief, they suffer only 1 casualty (95% of 20 = 1). Same thing the next day and the day after that. After 30 days with the same results you conclude – CORRECTLY – that Invisocam really is 95% effective – and you’ve finally taken the ridge. That’s the happy scenario.
The unhappy scenario is that you send your companies out across the open ground the first day they are sporting Invisocam utilities and they suffer 20 casualties. The next day, the same and day after that, the same and so on. Nothing has changed. Your companies had suffered 20 casualties a day before Invisocam and they’re suffering 20 casualties day after Invisocam. You go back to the DoD contractor with wringing his neck on your mind. He holds up his hands and says, “Hey I told you it’s 95% effective and it is. 95% of your men don’t get hit when they wear my product”. You go ahead and wring his neck.
As you can see, it is important to know how “95% effective” is defined. It’s all a matter of which denominator you use – the entire population (of both companies in this story) or the population of daily casualties.
So if the vaccines are said to be 95% effective because they will prevent 95% of the population from getting hospitalized or dead from covid, then that is as meaningless the unhappy Invisocam scenario *because less than 5% of the population was getting hospitalized or dead from covid before the vaccine*.
On the other hand, if the claim is that the vaccine will reduce the number of casualties by 95%, then that would represent an effective vaccine.
So the question is, has the vaccine reduced the number of casualties by 95%?
The answer is “no”. There has not been a 95% reduction in covid casualties since the introduction of the vaccine; not anywhere. Now the covidians want to blame that on the unvaxxed. Hence the apocryphal stories of hospitals jammed full of unvaxxed idiots with their lungs rotting away.
Those claims don’t even pass the most cursory of sniff tests. Something like 54% of all Americans have been fully vaccinated. That alone should reduce the covid casualty rate by around 49% (making allowances for the admitted 5% unefficacy) if the vaccine works as advertised, regardless of the 46% who are unvaxxed. Of course vaccination rates differ from state to state and age group to age group, but can anyone show me where covid casualties have dropped directly proportional (less the 5%) to the percent vaccinated? Nope.
Through this lens the lack of vaccine efficacy becomes even more clear when we look at countries where the vaccination rate is very high, but hospitalizations and deaths also remain high. 78% of Israelis are vaccinated. Yet July 2021 saw more Israelis hospitalized for covid than July 2020 (see here – https://covid19.who.int/region/euro/country/il). How can that be with a vaccine that is supposed to be 95% effective unless, like with the unhappy Invisocam scenario, the entire population is the denominator and not the casualty cohort?
That’s a model of a sniff test I’d encourage everyone to explore. Of course there are many nuances and finer cuts of data that need to be done to fully understand how useless, at best, the vaccines are.

A wonderful analogy but to make it fit this situation you must create a scenario in which a significant portion of the force is rejecting the Inviso shield and going without it, and then comparing the casualties between the invisible and the visible.
Our real world casualty figures are coming in from staff at hospitals, ERs and ICUs, and are prompting governors even in red states to beg people to be vaccinated because they say the vast majority of the seriously ill are unvaxed.

Now the rationale is that it prevents severity of the reaction to infection. Yet the government and big businesses mandate the vaccine. So as in Israel as the infection rate and hospitalization grows despite large percentage of the population vaccinated the new game is regular boosters. So obviously the vaccines aren’t the perfect answer but they still seem to edge out the disease itself by some margin as regards side-effects.
Where we’re still floundering, I reckon, is that I don’t see prophylactics given the same intensive scrutiny as the vaccines. If it turns out, for example, that ivermectin really does help as a prophylactic there’s going to be one hell of a fuss later. Even if it doesn’t turn out that way, we should be looking at its efficacy now instead of continually saying “no solid evidence”.
There are trials for Ivermectin going on now. One in the US at Duke and one in the UK at Oxford. And there are probably many more going on.
The problem is that some panicked people are taking the Ivermectin version used for deworming cattle and horses. Needless to say a highly concentrated formula intended for a 1200 pound riding horse or a 2,000 pound Hereford bull used by a 120 to 200 pound human will lead to major hospitalization. But even the version used against human parasites could stoke adverse interaction with other meds so should be taken under prescription by an MD.

If someone is stupid enough to take the entire tube, then they were bound to die from some accident sooner or later. It would be Darwinism in action; about the equivalent of people who are stupid enough to get the experimental jabs full of spike proteins and then “boosters” 3 through infinity because, obvious to anyone with half a brain, the jabs don’t work as promised. Also obviously you scale down the de-wormer dose for your body weight. I’ve taken it that way for many years – and yes, from the horse product sold at Tractor Supply (because I had horses and because I didn’t want to get worms with all the walking around on the farm I owned). If you weigh 200 pounds then divide the 1,200 pound horse dose by 6. This is math even a 3rd grader could do.

Glad you are still upright and were smart enough to formulate your own dose. Are you on bloodthinners or statins?
The Mississippi State Department of Health has reported that some ivermectin used for livestock ended up hospitalizing some folks. Whether that was due to failure to scale down the dose or from unregulated inactive ingredients is still unknown.
I’ve never taken veterinary meds and intend not to do so in the future. And never used Mane&Tail shampoo although a former girlfriend swore by it.
I don’t much care what the definition of vaccine is. But one objective of the vax campaign was to reach herd immunity (the other I guess reducing hospital admissions). The latter I guess is confirmed (so far) but I don’t see that herd immunity is possible, as the vaccinated seem to be perfectly capable of carrying and transmitting Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2. It remains to be seen what happens with Mu etc.

Regarding the .2% who died: Medical practitioners Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Vladimir Zelenko have stated that physicians had been instructed that no therapies were available to treat/cure Covid patients. McCullough said the directed protocol was to send a Covid-complaining patient home until he exhibited serious inability to breathe, at which point, the patient was to be hospitalized and ventilated.
At that early time, Remdesivir was being used. It appears to be the case that Remdesivir was called for only at a point when a patient had difficulty breathing.
Physicians were specifically instructed NOT to use hydroxychloroquinine + zinc, and NOT to use Ivermectin. Numerous medical experts are being given media platforms to warn against use of HCQ + zinc and also Ivermectin. I learn from these physicians that it is extremely difficult to obtain the medicines that in some places and in other times were readily available OTC at a minimal cost.
Just an hour or two ago, Joe Biden called “so-called doctors” who promoted such treatments “conspiracy theorists.”
But Dr. Zelenko has used those therapies, successfully, for thousands of sufferers from Covid.
SO:
— My chances of catching Covid are slim.
— My chances of dying from Covid are even slimmer.
— If I DO catch Covid, there are inexpensive remedies that can treat the disease, without requiring hospitalization.
ON THE OTHER HAND, you say that a “mature adult should take the vaccine.”
Reports that I read say that MrNA has caused blood clotting, among other harms of a greater or lesser degree.
Similar to Col. Lang, I had a brain hemorrhage and spent a month in ICU then Rehab. Treatments included about 300 doses of medicines or injections to ensure that my blood did not clot, since a clot will kill me.
I do not know what the chances are of a blood clot from a vaccine.
I know that the medical experts and politicians are lying about those statistics, and also, from first-hand experience, I know that front-line physicians have been intimidated into toeing the line dictated to them by those lying politicians. I trusted a man to penetrate my brain to tie up a ruptured blood vessel, to drill a hole in my skull to drain excess fluid, to prescribe a program of intensive care, and a regimen to teach me to walk and talk again. But he has let it be known that he cannot act on his own knowledge and expertise regarding Covid vaccine; if he does not follow the guidance of his certifying or insuring agencies, he could be barred from practice.

I don’t want to bore you with my medical situation, but I was one of those 17 million Americans. I’m living with the scars and with the possibility of a recurrence. Given the chances of dying from Covid; from cancer; from a stroke brought on by vaccine, I think the odds of dying from Covid are least, and the odds of dying from a clot-induced stroke are greatest.
