Good to see that Elon Musk sent scads of Starlink terminals to Ukraine free of charge.
He also is charging electric car batteries in Ukraine reportedly free of charge.
A friend worked for an optics(in the network communication sense) company that made some hardware involved in Starlink. State owned ZTE in China was another of their clients, they reported that the Chinese would constantly pose seemingly innocuous but probing questions in their efforts to copy the technology behind the hardware involved
Elon just tweeted out this for the Starlink terminals he sent to Ukraine.
“Updating software to reduce peak power consumption, so Starlink can be powered from car cigarette lighter. Mobile roaming enabled, so phased array antenna can maintain signal while on moving vehicle.”
He also issued this warning, “Important warning: Starlink is the only non-Russian communications system still working in some parts of Ukraine, so probability of being targeted is high. Please use with caution.”
Biden ought to climb down off his Elon snit and acknowledge this publicly. If he truly wants to bring the country together, this is a good place to start.
