“Groundbreaking UFO Video Just Released By Chilean Navy” Huffpost”

An exceptional nine-minute Navy video of a UFO displaying highly unusual behavior, studied by Chilean authorities for the last two years, is now being released to the public. The CEFAA – the Chilean government agency which investigates UFOs, or UAP (unidentified aerial phenomena), has been in charge of the investigation. Located within the DGAC, the equivalent of our FAA but under the jurisdiction of the Chilean Air Force, CEFAA has committees of military experts, technicians and academics from many disciplines. None of them have been able to explain the strange flying object captured by two experienced Navy officers from a helicopter.

The Chilean government agency always makes its cases public when an investigation is complete, and acknowledges the existence of UAP when a case merits such a conclusion.

General Ricardo Bermúdez, Director of CEFAA during the investigation, told me that “We do not know what it was, but we do know what it was not.” And “what it is not” comprises a long list of conventional explanations. Here is what happened:

On November 11, 2014, a Chilean Navy helicopter (Airbus Cougar AS-532) was on a routine daytime patrol mission flying north along the coast, west of Santiago. On board were the pilot, a Navy Captain with many years of flying experience, and a Navy technician who was testing a WESCAM’s MX-15 HD Forward Looking Infra Red (FLIR) camera, used most often for “medium-altitude covert intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance,” according to the product website. The aircraft was flying at an altitude of approximately 4,500 feet on a clear afternoon with unlimited horizontal visibility, and the air temperature at that height was 50 degrees F (10 C). There was a cloud base above at 10,000 feet, and a layer of stratuscumulos clouds below. The helicopter was flying at about 132 knots, or 152 mph.” Huffpost

Comment: Chile has long had an official government agency that investigates and reports on UAP phenomena. pl

The video that contains footage of the UAP ejecting what appears to be a plume of hot gaseous material is truly amazing.

Usually we don’t see evidence of a UAP propulsion system. However, the plume in the video indicates that there probably is one that isn’t functioning totally in some unknown paradigm (i.e. our own propulsion systems also produce hot gas plumes).

    • Yeah, Right says:

From the look of it that object didn’t accelerate when it was ejecting that plume of hot gas, and didn’t decelerate when that stopped happening.

So whatever that plume was, it doesn’t appear to be for propulsion.

These all look to be same the same craft as in the Chilean footage.

    New Zealand – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3wh8aP9MiA

    US Navy encounters – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPrYVmYkL5w

The similarity of the craft all over the world should silence stupid hand waving away explanations like balloons, birds, etc

Potential explanation here, summary – it’s a passenger jet much further away than distance estimated by pilot. I have no expertise on judging its validity, I’m afraid.

      Aidan,
There are guys like Mick West that make a career out of “debunking” unusual events. Their schtick is to manically proof that they are smarter and more rational than anyone else (including the US and Chilean navies). Unfortunately, they are not rational skeptics that they present themselves to be. Rather, they are big ego deceivers that use omission and outright lies to “close” a case. You will find that their alternative explanation never takes all of the evidential facts into consideration and that facts that are considered are distorted to fit their explanation.

Another tactic is to offer a “could have been” alternative explanation. This explanation will be highly improbable, often to the point of ridiculous, in light of all that is known about the case. However, it will include the promise of peace of mind that current “scientific knowledge” has not been violated’ e.g. “science” knows that there is no such thing as space aliens (for God’s sake!). So of course the UAP is a merely a bird or a balloon or a jet airplane! Mick West, former computer game designer, is smarter than all of the fighter pilots and Navy analysts put together. Working from only a video he can solve a case that the Navy got wrong even with access to data from all of the sophisticated systems that tracked the UAP.
