Shot reaction

Unlike SWMBO I have been suffering from a prolonged reaction (three weeks) to the Moderna vaccine. I feel terrible. Will have another shot on the 20th. I am not looking forward to it. Not posting today. pl

My thoughts and prayers are with you sir. Be well.

  2. RobP says:

    Hope you feel better, Col.

    I recommend getting some Pedialyte.
    Concerned you are dehydrated.

  3. Polish Janitor says:

I hope you get better soon colonel. My friend up in Hartford, CT. just received his Moderna shot a few days ago and he too has been complaining to me about being tired and little low on juice. Why not prepare one of those nice steaks with some side-dish veggies to bring back your energy levels up and running again?

  4. A. Pols says:

Reactions to the the vaccine can be idiosyncratic, I’m 74 ( yes, just a pup..LOL) and I had one restless night and an “off” day following. Got the 2nd jab on Sunday and my off day was Tuesday. A close associate of mine at 78 had no discernable reaction. At the same time, other friends, some much younger had a miserable time after the 2nd. Jab. All of us got the Moderna jab. I had no reaction to the first shot. You should be OK in the long run.

  5. Fred says:

I hope you have a swift recovery from the second round. I’ve been holding off on the vaccine, being at the low end of the upper age range for risk.

  6. Alex says:

Pat, very sorry about but not surprised by your reaction to Moderna. I’ve heard of numerous people reacting the same way, not with the Pfizer however which I was lucky enough to find in our neighborhood. Probably nothing to do now but wait it out, but I would emphasize Vitamin D3, zinc, see if your doc will get you some ivermectin in case the virus rears its ugly head in your weakened state. You’ll make it.

  7. sbin says:

    Best wish!
If it makes you feel better my 93 yo friend and his 91 yo wife contracted covid then took the shots with little trouble from either.

    • EEngineer says:

I can’t image why anyone who’d already had the virus would get the vaccine. I certainly won’t.

      • Glenn Fisher says:

Here here. My wife and I also had covid with no real complications, so we’re opting out as well.

      • BSDN says:

        No kidding.
FTM everyone, I know out here in Wa. as well as family members in Cali and NY, gets over the virus no big deal. Some have said the flu a couple of years ago was worse. Granted we are not as a rule talking about elderly folk, but even the local rest homes have had recoveries and few fatalities.

      • sbin says:

        I thought much the same.
When I asked Byron why he was getting the shot?
He told me he heard it was good.
Who am I to argue with a 93 yo guy that drives his 1966 red corvette to the country club to play gulf all summer.

  8. Tess says:

Sorry to hear, I was hoping you would have been hesitant, at least for now, to take those products after all what some of us have tried to warn here….

I hope you can recover soon…

Wondering whether it would be convenient taking the second shot due the strong reaction…I would advise to abstain, if you were my grandpa…

Just read this today, did you recall those talking about people being microchipped even time before this pandemic, whom were called “conspirationists”?
Well, people who were talking about “vaccination passports” past year were also labeled that by the guardinas of truth in the media and the Covidian Cultists…

Also, related to the harsh censorship, including now on critics of using experimental genic products on humans, read this report on the military origins of Facebook, and how alll the surveillance state agencies were apparently shut down in the past especially after Snowden whistleblowing, to resurface as private croporations still totally linked ot CIA/DARPA….Also, it was very interesting to find out that the pedophile network convicts, Epstein and Maxwell, were part of this effort …what leads one to think that neither the former is dead not the later is in jail…

  9. Pat, take the Ivermectin prophylaxis as if you have COVID.

The Ivermectin, Zn+, Quercitin, Vit-D, Vit-C will enhance your immune system

  10. Seward says:

No reaction to Moderna after the second jab 26 days ago. But I’ll join you in solidarity, just in case. (My poison is Tyrconnel Irish, however, or Old Grandad when I have: both very sweet tasting.)

  11. Jose says:

When we were quarantined with the Wuhan Virus, I had a similar reaction to the antiseptic properties of Vodka.

    Hope you get better.

  12. EEngineer says:

If you’re having a reaction to it why get another dose? It would seem the cure is worse than the disease for you. I say that having had it *LAST* February before everyone really started to get worked up about it.

  13. longarch says:

May God bless you with health.

  14. Mark says:

Colonel,I had the modern a vaccine last Friday and Saturday night had 102.1 fever. I’m still kind of beat. I had the virus last August.Hope feeling better, Thx mark

  15. J says:

    Pat,
Hope you get to feeling better real soon.

  16. Peter+VE says:

I hope you recover soon. I’ve enjoyed hearing your thoughts since you were allowed on Public Radio.

  17. BillWade says:

    Hoping you get better asap.

Biden declares national emergency over Russia:

“This, Biden said in the letter, constitutes “an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States.”

  18. Fourth and Long says:

I had a couple of seriously awful days a day after my second Pfizer shot middle of last month. I hear Moderna can be worse. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Sir.

  19. Tess says:

If you have a comfortable armchair to be outside and feel well enough for to do it, expose yourself to the sun as much as you can. Finally UV light in certain longitudes has been proved killing the virus…or whatever inflamatory condition yo umay have…

In the end, Trump was right at that…

  20. Deap says:

Thank you for bringing this concern up. You are an honest reporter. Please report this to the online VARS vaccine side effect website.

DH has also has now long-term bouts of joint/muscle pain after his Pfizer two-shot exposure, or was it after the second new shingles vaccine working away on him at the same time? Or was it just “age” and coincidence

I had a 3 month siege of double-vision after my second pneumoccocal vaccine a few years ago– we remain unwitting participants in a brave new world of “modern medicine”. But it did finally pass.

Wishing you the best recovery and thanks for the personal candor.

  21. Stovepipe says:

    Dear Colonel Lang,

May you get better soon! May I suggest delaying the second Moderna shot until you recover fully?

    Respectfully submitted,

  22. English Outsider says:

Colonel – if it’s like the reaction a few relatives have had then it’s not at all pleasant. I”m glad it did not affect your wife in the same way and hope you get better soon.

  23. akaPatience says:

For as much time Regime Media have spent blathering about Covid, one would think most of the talk at this point at least would focus on side effects of the vaccine. But no. I’d heard Pfizer was less problematic than Moderna, but that was about it until I actually got the Pfizer shot and was given a brief blurb at the hospital that offered a general outline of side effects. Not a single one of the many healthcare people in the assembly line of the vaccine process said anything, however in fairness, I was advised to sit down in a waiting area for 15 minutes after the shot before leaving the facility, in case I experienced a bad reaction. I *did* feel a bit light headed, but that was it… at first.

Even though I’m in my 60s and have since learned the older one is, the lesser the side effects (because older immune systems are “less reactive”), I was really sick the day after the first shot. Initially thinking I had a migraine accompanied by nausea, it persisted for days and I felt like I had the flu. I realized I was experiencing vaccine side effects. My joints were achy, particularly my hips! I’d never had any issues with my hips before but since getting the second shot (I planned ahead and stayed in bed for 2 days afterwards) I still have some occasional aches in my hips. Weird. And I still feel a bit of gastrointestinal queasiness on occasion. The bottom line is I just haven’t felt up to par since getting the vaccine.

I’m a big consumer of supplements even though I adhere to a very nutritious diet, so I already take Vit. D-3, Vit. C, Zinc and Quercitin (among others). So I suppose it’s possible I would be feeling even worse otherwise. AND my husband’s allergist told him just yesterday that this is an especially bad allergy season, so maybe my malaise has something to do with my taking antihistamine and NSAIDS due to that.

I’ve also read that some people who’ve actually had Covid in the past may experience worse vaccine side effects, which makes me wonder if I could’ve gotten a symptom-less case of the virus in the past year:

  24. Carey says:

I am thinking of you and wishing you well soon, Sir.

  25. Harry says:

Sorry to hear. I am much younger but I too suffered a reaction to the Moderna vaccination. I am better now but spent 3 days in a strange malaise of generally not feeling well. Interestingly I was also in a terrible temper and did not respond well to SWMBO requiring chores of me.

    Get well soon.

  26. Deap says:

Let’s see where this story goes – 1500 “Covid Positive Tests, but labs found zero covid in any of the samples; just regular influenza markers: claims “covid” in fact was a gigantic hoax

    https://principia-scientific.com/laboratories-in-us-cant-find-covid-19-in-1500-positive-tests/

As always, trust but verify – is this story a hoax, or is the hoax a hoax? I suffer myself from confirmation bias when I read things like this.

  27. walruc says:

Just had the AstraGenica jab a few minutes ago. Will report later. Only side effect so far is intense cravings for chocolate…..

  28. Alves says:

I hope your recovery was good.

Maybe I will be able to be vaccinated in the second semester here in Brazil. Maybe. And hopefully with a vaccine as good as Pfizer.

Right now it is a daily fight to schedule the second dose for my elderly parents here. They got CoronaVac and the reaction was not that bad. My father did not feel anything and my mother had a couple of days of headaches and some body pain. It is a pretty safe vaccine, but with performance not that stellar.

Meanwhile, we get to see fellow brazilians dying like flies in hospitals that sometimes do not even have the intubation medication to easy their suffering. Pure torture. Failed state all the way.

  29. Deap says:

When did “covid fact” part company with “covid hysteria”?

Searching back to the very early origins of information and misinformation in Jan 2020, now viewed through the lens of a year and half of accumulating data begs the question: what did they know and when did they know it?

What got debunked that later became fact. What got pushed, that never came to be.

Here is an early media entry from Jan 2020, that got “debunked”, yet these claims still swirl today, including the US role via Dr Fauci in the Wuhan Lab’s experimentation with lethal viruses.

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/facebook-coronavirus-posts-spread-misinformation-on-deadly-outbreak/

Additionally, why was Elizabeth Warren so keen, and so early, to pin the closure of the USAID “PREDICT” program on Trump, setting him up for the 2020 Wuhan-Election Virus negligence debacle. Before we even had cases in the US, and China was claiming only 100 had died, Warren was already pointing fingers. What did she know, and when did she know it.

And did any of this have even the remotest connection to the USAID program because I saw it used today, nearly a year and half later, to malign Trump. The program was a minor player, apparently highly ineffective and a US expense redundancy – but carried great symbolic value for Democrat politicians. They obviously are not letting go of this.

  30. English Outsider says:

I hope it went well today, Colonel. The second Pfizer shot is reckoned to be the worst but I hope this time round you don’t suffer such ill effects.
