As you know whatever sentence the judge gives him will be reviewed and possibly reduced by the convening authority, in this case the CG of XVIII Airborne Corps and then the US Court of Military Appeals. I think a DD would be appropriate after review of a harsher sentence. we should not let this man ever benefit from his desertion and cowardice (misbehavior before the enemy). pl
