Sultan Fatih Tayyip, restorer of Sunni triumphalism, has proposed to the heir of the Romanov House that the Turks and Russians assume management of the Syrian oil and gas fields east of the Euphrates River. Having triumphed in Idlib he now wishes to accept his responsibilities for this newly remembered portion of the Ottoman patrimony.
It is not clear what Russia's reaction to this proposal might be.
