A young, beautiful looking, female Walrus named Freya has graced the city of Oslo by taking up summer residence in Oslo Fiord. Needless to say, the general public are infatuated with her apparently to the point of endangering themselves. Female Walruses do not put up with louts. What beggars belief is the Norwegian Authorities solution ; euthanise Freya!

Freya puts me in mind of some few of our local corn-fed lady hillbillys roundabout.
One of the more effective pick up lines from my (far) youthful days was
“My. What a beautiful tooth you have!”
Damn shame the authorities would even consider euthanization.

The honorable course of action is to rescue, rehab and release in a different area. The attention she is getting in Oslo is sure to kill her slowly and painfully.
Agree. I saw this last night and wondered why they didn’t just take her somewhere she belonged. They can certainly afford to.

I don’t get it. Why “euthanized?” Why not killed or murdered?
Exactly, what a strange reluctance to use a word which precisely describe the matter of the fact.
Sad ending. The least they could have done was to give Freya her own pontoon raft like the Welsh did with Wally. That would have kept sightseers out of danger, no?
