The “Resistance” now wants unity in the USA.

Cowsandfan

All those who have followed the course of US political life for the last five years know that the Democratic Party's adherents have done everything they could imagine to impede; first the election of Donald Trump as president, and then to impede his function as president.  The list of projects undertaken by them is so long and so easily listed that I will not bother to do so.

  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_protests_against_Donald_Trump#During_Trump's_presidency

Now, in the aftermath of an election in which their party has suffered massive "down ballot" defeat, Joe Biden and his supporters are calling for unity and "healing" across the country.

Well, good luck to you.  There will not be unity in the country for a long time and you brought it on yourselves.

You are "hoist your own petard" and "turning in the wind" and will stay there.  You should pray that the unwashed Deplorables do not take up arms against you in the coming period.  pl

Totally agree. 4 years of constantly delegitimizing a sitting President, and no appealing to “norms”. How was that McCathyite nonsense that has been broadcast on Network News for 4 years acceptable.
These same channels have done their best to turn politics into a team sport with the obvious predictable results. The nation is divided because it was profitable and because it suited them. Families split.
And now they say enough is enough. Shame on these hypocrites.

  2. A.Pols says:

“Hoist by your own petard”. But never mind my pedantry.I still think the electoral college will sleep walk right through this and Biden will ascend to the throne in January. The facts regarding the midnight urban fraud will come out afterwards despite large scale evidence tampering in places like Philly and “Hotlanta” and the scandal will haunt the Democrats for the next 4 years.

  3. Eric Newhill says:

    Screw ’em

  4. exiled off mainstreet says:

It is a recipe for trouble when massive proof of fraud emerges which looked at objectively is irrefutable. Pressure ramps up even further when the local barons, i. e. the governors, mayors, etc. continue to issue edicts which would be illegal if courts chose to look at them seriously, since the right to earn a living, see your friends and family and even the right to breathe is being usurped as never before in history. Meanwhile, their own behavior reveals their hypocrisy as they violate their own edicts with cynical impunity.

  5. Diana L Croissant says:

It’s like asking us to be unified with a swarm of mindless, destructive locusts.
I think they should all go back to their mommy and daddy’s basement and eat nothing but PBJ sandwiches for the rest of their miserable lives.

  6. Bill H says:

The Democrats definition of democracy is only honoring elections that they win.

  7. Deap says:

Dominion computers linked to China, Belgrade, Iran …..and ACORN – which operated as Obama’s SEIU front in 2008, reconstituted later as Indivisible – the astroturf Trump resistance immediately after the 2016 loss.
Good time to rewatch the documentary “Occupy Unmasked” to remind ourselves who the social –injustice– players have always been, and what their real agenda always has been. And it has never been “unity”. It was take down Trump by any means necessary.
    Agree go blow, Joe.

“You should pray that the unwashed Deplorables do not take up arms against you in the coming period.”
I’m a Biden voter. The only praying I’d do would be with a 12-gauge to protect family and friends. Most of my VFW buddies feel the same way. Not all of us are church ladies or rainbow coalition cream puffs.
But most of the recent threats of violence are against Republican election officials by hard core Trump supporters. Bad juju that. Let’s hope Biden’s DoJ and/or Blue State AGs will go after perpetrators of violence against Republicans as well as against anyone else.

I’m still hoping for a “Hail Mary” outcome but planning for the worst.
Due to the fake pandemic, aside from the unemployed, we have over two million people behind on their mortgage and over five million people behind on their rent. I suspect the lock downs in many states will intensify in spite of not many dying from the false positives. Biden has said he will raise the capital gains tax so I’m thinking a lot of people ahead of the game will sell off their stocks prior to the new year. Myself, I would gain much if Biden wins(hydrogen fuel cells) (I certainly hope that doesn’t happen). My logic is what does it matter if my stock goes up but my taxes double. I’m probably getting too old to be able to wait for a more likable administration.
I could tell you a Covid joke but 99.7% of you wouldn’t get it. Oh well, here goes:
A man goes to the eye doctor in 2004 and reads the customary chart, he says the first line reads many unemployed, the 2nd line reads many foreclosures, the 3rd reads people wearing masks. The doctor exclaims, “great, you have 2020 vision”.

  11. Diana L Croissant says:

Well if Biden is inaugurated, I believe it will be the least watched inauguration in our history. I am sure I will not be able to watch that farce. And then I will have to pray constantly that he doesn’t really, really go into dementia. Do we need Jill running the show like the good elementary school specialist she is? Or, worse, how could we live happily through a Harris presidency?
The only thing good that might come of enduring those two is that maybe, just maybe, the Democrats will have to rethink their support of the “progressive” movement. (That is if they can think at all.)
I’m also not sure that the Black communities will be satisfied with the new EBT cards they will be given and the free Biden-phones.
Will there be a big revolt in the suburbs when the Democrats try their forced re-imagining of the suburbs?
One of the first things that will happen before Biden is inaugurated will be a rush on all the gun shops across the country to get protection before the Second Amendment is thrown out. Thank heavens Trump got the Supreme Court packed as he did.

  12. Mark K Logan says:

I think Obama could make the same argument. Tea Party, birtherism, outrageous abuse of the filibuster, denial of Merrick Garland, et al.
When did it start? IMO with the election of Reagan and the sweeping victories in the House. D’s sense of entitlement to power due to decades of holding a majority in the House drove them over an edge. Been a pay-back game ever since.

  13. akaPatience says:

SO, we’re supposed to believe the Pretender-elect broke several bones in his foot while playing with his dog. More likely, it was all of the attempts to jog to podia with a forced spring in his step (instead of his usual senile shuffle) that caused his orthopedic problems. It’s going to be interesting seeing the nasty old coot deteriorate before our eyes, but maybe his Chinese buddies will unleash another virus strain so Quid Pro Joe can hide out even longer.
I wonder if Hunter’s been in talks with any more CCP “investors” yet? I also wonder how many of them bought truckloads of Obama’s latest paean to himself?

    Leith
A bad assed Democrat, how many million of you are there?

  15. james says:

“A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

  16. Leith says:

Not hardly a badass. And I just turned 78. So if I toted my shotgun to the county seat to defend our County Commissioners, they’d probably send me home while laughing their own asses off.
Although I am considering putting my Biden 2020 signs back up near the road to let the wannabee mutineers know where I live.

  17. Fred says:

    Leith,
Do you mean Bernie Bro James Hodgkinson who tried to assassinate Steve Scalise and two dozen Republican congressman or are you referring to the Bernie Bro neighbor who beat Senator Rand Paul into the hospital?

  18. Leith says:

    Fred –
James Hodgkinson got what he deserved thanks to two heroic black police officers. May he rot in hell along with any other political assassins.
Rene Boucher served eight months in prison for tackling Paul. Plus six months home confinement and sold his home to pay a half million dollars to Paul.
I’ve never been a Bernie fan.

  19. fakebot says:

Schumer threw in the towel on a call with donors. The Democrats won’t win a majority in the Senate.
    https://www.axios.com/schumer-regrets-democrats-senate-chances-1bc586cb-46d1-4aa0-97f1-0274cfed1c00.html
He believes their chances of a Senate majority ended with Cunningham’s loss in NC, with Susan Collins’ win in ME, and his failure to recruits Stacy Abrams for the Georgia race. Schumer made several references to Cunningham’s “zipper” problems in calls with donors, while he suggested Collins’ win came down to her approach to the Supreme Court vacancy. He doesn’t seem to have any faith in Rev. Raphael Warnock winning. Even the Washington Post is reporting Warnock may be too radical for Georgia:
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/12/02/raphael-warnock-might-be-too-radical-georgia-senate/

that’s part of Warnock’s problem as a candidate: He genuinely believes that America is a fallen, corrupt nation, befouled by racism and besmirched by capitalism. He makes that crystal clear in his 2013 book, “The Divided Mind of the Black Church,” in which he praises Marxism and castigates “white capitalistic forces.” That’s the common thread that holds his writings and his sermons together, and no degree of eloquence or number of cute ads can disguise that fact.

That Republican majority in the Senate will probably last four years and the door is very much open for more Republicans to flip seats in the house come the midterms. Biden might not even last the term. Republicans don’t need to push back hard to get back into power.

    Leith
Thanks for helping to elect a corrupt hack with early dementia.
    12 gauge and VFW.
That give you an excuse for voting for the propagation of the swamp…or you just don’t like America like the rest of the Democrats?

  21. English Outsider says:

Leith – admit it. If there were a few more stout souls like you around you wouldn’t have needed to vote for a Biden.

  22. srw says:

Has Flynn gone over the edge?
    From prof. Heather Cox Richardson:
“Yesterday evening, Trump’s disgraced former National Security Advisor, retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn– whom Trump recently pardoned after he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with then-Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak before Trump took office– retweeted a news release from a right-wing Ohio group called “We the People Convention.” That release contained a petition asking Trump to declare martial law, suspend the Constitution, silence the media, and have the military “oversee a national re-vote.”
The petition ends with a threat of violence, calling on Trump “to boldly act to save our nation…. We will also have no other choice but to take matters into our own hands, and defend our rights on our own, if you do not act within your powers to defend us.”
University of Texas School of Law Professor Steve Vladeck pointed out that “The Uniform Code of Military Justice defines as ‘sedition’ one who, ‘with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of lawful civil authority, creates, in concert with any other person, revolt, violence, or other disturbance against that authority.’…”
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley today pointedly distanced the military from talk of a coup. “Our military is very very capable… we are determined to defend the U.S. Constitution,” he said. “No one should doubt that.” A defense official told Military Times that the idea of Trump declaring martial law and having the military re-do the election is “insane in a year that we didn’t think could get anymore insane.””

  23. srw says:

    It can’t get anymore ridiculous:
“Over the length of a 46-minute video posted to social media Wednesday, President Trump read and riffed on a prepared script lambasting those who had the audacity to suggest that receiving fewer votes than his opponent meant he shouldn’t serve a second consecutive term in office.”
Unfounded allegations upon unfounded allegations of massive voter fraud. I need, like the judges who have ruled 39 times, some proven facts to believe anything the Trumpster or his cohorts say about winning the election.

  24. Fred says:

    srw,
So you want to actually see the computer software which tabulated the votes, inspect the servers overseas that counted them, inspect the jump drives used to update voting machines and also see the actual mail in ballot envelopes with signatures to verify against the voter rolles as well as inspect the required postmarks? Great! Can’t wait for any of the appealate judges to say the same thing.

  25. Deap says:

srw, Trump won and Democrat insiders cheated. Democrats Cloward-Pivens the ship of state, flying the Covid flag of convenience. History will record this 2020 election as such.
BTW, you have no proof your version of events is true. It is merely your own operating mythology; using your own chosen surrogate end points. But do tell us why you really want Biden-Harris in charge.

  26. Deap says:

srw, what are the chances your Democrat goons will not burn the place down when Trump prevails and becomes the duly elected President of the United States for his second term?
Pre-emptive planning for this highly predictable event is prudent. Past is prologue. Your Democrat goons have kept this nation is turmoil for four long years. I suspect you will not go quietly, considering how much effort you have put into this “revolution” so far.
Nothing wrong with the old Boy Scout motto – be prepared. You have played your hand.

  27. srw says:

Another former military member to join the Trump/Flynn bandwagon? It scares me to think these guys once held responsible positions in our military.
“President Trump’s nominee to become a senior Pentagon official spread debunked conspiracies on Twitter that called Trump’s election loss to Joe Biden a ‘coup’ attempt and shared tweets that suggest Trump should declare martial law,” CNN reports.
“Scott O’Grady, a former fighter pilot and Trump loyalist, repeatedly retweeted tweets that falsely stated Trump won the election in ‘landslide fashion’ and that millions of votes were stolen from the President.”

  28. Fred says:

    srw,
I remember when that guy who once held a responsible position in our military, Colin Powel, told us all about Iraq’s WMD. Then there’s “Mad Dog” the lobbyist with the Cohen (yes, the former SecDef) Group; helping China is making them rich.
Thanks for keeping us so well informed.
